Q: I've already renewed my Domain Name with someone else.

A: You can cancel the renewal with us by visiting the "Domain Renewals" section of your maintenance page.

    Q: What does De-tagged mean?

A: Each .uk Domain is linked to the registering ISP by an IPSTAG. Each Domain Registrar has their own unique IPSTAG.

De-tagging a Domain means that the IPSTAG on that Name is removed, and after the renewal date has passed, Nominet will de-list the Domain Name.

We de-tag Domain Names that have not been renewed by the customer so that Nominet do not charge us for the renewal.

Q: When is my Domain Name due for renewal?

A: Go to the Renewal Status option in the My Domains drop down menu. You will be given a list of all your domains, with renewal dates, and the option to renew those whose renewal date is coming up soon.

Q: Will my .COM / .NET / .ORG be renewed with INWW or Joker?

A: The easiest way to find out, is to query the WHOIS at: http://www.netsol.com/.

If the Domain Name is shown as registered via Melbourne IT or INWW, it is currently in their system and it will be renewed with them. If however it shows CORE or Joker, it will remain in the CORE system and be renewed via Joker.

Although we have tried for many months to allow CORE domains to be transferred into the INWW system at the point of renewal, it has proved extremely difficult to do.

.com,.net and .org Domain Names registered with other registrars that you have transferred into us should have been transferred into the INWW system. If they are still showing the original registrar please let us know.

Q: I have paid Nominet direct for my .uk Renewal

A: If you pay the renewal fee directly to Nominet (the direct charge is approx £90 instead of £14.99), you will only renew the domain name itself, you will not have any services attached to the domain name.
If you have not renewed the domain through us and the domain passes it's renewal date, Nominet will send you a Pro-Forma invoice. Paying that invoice to Nominet will renew the domain name for a further 2 years... paying Nominet direct will not renew the extra services you enjoy through Freeparking. In this case you must raise a support request, requesting that we take the normal renewal fee (£14.99) and reinstate your services.

Q: I've received a renewal notice from Domain Registry of America/Canada.

A: This company is in no way connected with us, or the registrars of your Domain Name.

Some of you will have received very official looking renewal notices for .com, .net and .org Domains from a company called Domain Registry of America. Along with a credit card form saying that you will loose your Domain Name if you do not send them your credit card details.

They have obtained your details from the public WHOIS record and are not a Domain registry.

DO NOT SEND THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS, Simply delete the email!

Q: I don't want to renew my Domain.

A: You can cancel a Domain renewal by visiting the "Domain Renewals" section of your maintenance page. This should be carried out as early as possible following your receipt of the renewal notice.

Q: I have paid for a Domain Name renewal but it has not been carried out yet.

A: Please raise a support request, providing us with as much information as possible - ie: Domain Name, time transaction was carried out, name on the credit card used for renewal, etc.

Q: I was not informed of an imminent renewal.

A: Several renewal notices are sent out to the email address contained in our database during the month before renewal is due. Please check the email address stored in our system against the "Admin Contact" and update if necessary.

Q: My .uk Domain has been De-tagged.

A: Immediately after the renewal date, if the Domain Name is still on our IPSTAG and we have not been paid for the renewal, we have to de-tag the Domain Name in order to prevent Nominet charging us for the renewal.

If you log into the Freeparking members area, check the renewals section, and your Domain Name is still listed, you may be able to retrieve the it.
